Funding Rules For The Ledger

The site can sell sponsorships, memberships, paid briefs, research retainers, and data licenses. Every paid placement must be labeled. Scores move only when the public record supports a change.

Allowed

  • Clearly labeled sponsors.
  • Founding memberships and public support links.
  • Paid briefs with client disclosure.
  • Data exports that preserve source metadata and change logs.
  • Research retainers for public source retrieval and score audits.

Blocked

  • Candidate ads, PAC ads, and anonymous influence buys.
  • Government propaganda placements.
  • Unlabeled sponsored content.
  • Private vetoes over cards, rankings, sources, or counterarguments.
  • Source removal unless the source is wrong, dead, superseded, or misused.

When A Sponsor Disagrees

A sponsor may file the same correction packet as any reader. The request must cite public evidence. If the evidence is better, the card changes and the update log records it. If the request is commercial pressure, the deal is rejected.

Paid Brief Standard

A paid brief can ask a question. It cannot dictate the answer. The finished brief must name the client, keep the strongest counterargument visible, and link the sources that support the score.
